Parafencing

Parafencing (short for “parallel fencing”) is the competitive version of our sport for athletes of various abilities.

Athletes who live with conditions that impact their ability to fence on two feet are invited to try out parafencing. Participants do not have to be full-time wheelchair users in order to participate! Many Parafencers have the ability to stand and walk, but participate in Parafencing due to other medical conditions, such as limb loss, difference in leg length, impaired muscle power, spinal injuries, cerebral palsy and stroke survivor.

Denver Fencing Center offers instruction in all three weapons for parafencers. We welcome current athletes and complete novices! Our Parafencing program is coached by Haley Ward, who has been a certified coach since 2005, with specific Parafencing coaching education.

Denver Fencing Foundation offers scholarships to fencers who need assistance to cover their membership. Scholarship price is $50. Full Price is $145. Your first week is free!
