Kevin started fencing when a friend suggested they take a class
together at College of Dupage in Illinois. His friend quit after two
weeks, but Kevin has been fencing ever since. That was 16 years ago.
Since then, Kevin has trained in classical as well as modern sport
fencing. He founded fencing clubs at Illinois State University and at
Gateway high school. Kevin was the 3rd place finisher in mixed foil in
the Colorado Cup in 2005, and took 2nd place in 2006. He currently has
a C in foil, but has been known to occasionally pick up an epee or a
saber. Kevin works as a high school math teacher, and has spent two
summers teaching philosophy for John's Hopkins Center for Talented
Youth.
